中南大学湘雅口腔医学院(湘雅口腔医院)简介
基本情况:湘雅口腔医学院与百年湘雅一脉相承,其前身为原湖南医科大学1986年成立的口腔医学系;2012年,中南大学决定在湘雅口腔医学院基础上,整合全校口腔医学学科力量成立湘雅口腔医院(以下简称医院);2013年4月医院揭牌开诊,是中南大学第四所直属附属医院、唯一的直属专科医院;2014年中南大学对湘雅口腔医学院-湘雅口腔医院-口腔医学研究所实施一体化管理,合并称谓“中南大学湘雅口腔医学院(湘雅口腔医院)”;2019年通过三级医院评审,2026年获批三级甲等专科医院,成为湖南省唯一的省级三级甲等口腔专科医院;在2024年度全国三级公立医院绩效考核中获A等(口腔专科医院最高等)。医院现有门诊椅位120张,编制床位80张,医疗区建筑面积7800平方米,教职员工221人。
医疗服务:在复旦中国医院学科声誉排行榜中,我院稳居华中区第2,仅次于武汉大学口腔医院;牙体牙髓科和口腔正畸科是国家临床重点专科培育项目和湖南省临床重点专科;科室设置齐全,涵盖口腔专科医院所有亚专科临床科室以及辅助科室;牵头制定国家级行业指南、专家共识6项;首创湖南省根管治疗器械分离显微微创取出技术;口腔癌、口腔黏膜病诊断治疗引领全国;是湖南省唯一常规开展四级手术的口腔专科医院,2023年出院患者四级手术比例为11.61%、年门诊11万余人次、年出院930人次、年手术889台次。
人才队伍:医师/教师队伍中60%以上具有博士学位,25%以上有海外留学经历;现有博导8人、硕导28人;有湖南省科技人才托举工程2人、湖湘青年英才6人、湖南省“青拔”2人、湖南省芙蓉青年学者1人、湖南省优青2人、湖南五四青年奖章获得者1人、五四湖南侨界优秀青年1人、湖南省卫生健康高层次人才2人、省高层次卫生人才“225”工程专家5人、中国抗癌协会专委会主委1人,30余人任中华口腔医学会专委会副主委、常委、委员职务。
学科建设:拥有8个国家级基地、2个国家研究分中心、6个省级基地;湖南省首个口腔医学学科院士专家工作站落户我院;软科世界大学学术排名(ARWU)居中国第13位;泰晤士(THE)高等教育世界学科排行榜居中国第11位;在第五轮学科评估中,位列全国第17-20位;拥有口腔医学一级学科硕士学位授权点、专业学位博士授权点、口腔整形美容学博士后流动站。
人才培养:获批国家一流本科专业建设点。1987年招收五年制本科学生,2001年招收七年制长学制学生,2016年招收“5+3”本硕一体化培养学生;1983年招收硕士研究生;2002年招收博士研究生;2004年招收留学生。拥有5个校内教学基地。目前在校学生600余名。每年为社会培养高水平口腔医学人才近200人。1个项目获中国国际“互联网+”大学生创新创业大赛青年红色筑梦之旅赛道金奖,实现中南大学在该赛道零的突破;“湘雅小海豚”医学生科技志愿服务获评团中央专项行动等6项国家级立项。
科学研究:近五年获批科研项目166项,其中,国家级21项;科研经费总计3700余万元;发表论文200余篇,其中SCI论文160余篇,单篇IF最高48.2;获发明专利授权19项,实用新型专利授权110项,完成科技成果转化3项;获湖南省科学技术奖科技进步奖三等奖1项。
社会担当:已与32家医院和高校建立了定点指导、合作、双向转诊关系,覆盖全省,辐射广西、新疆;常态化“三进”开展健康义诊、科普讲座等,年均惠及10余万人次;获国家级、省级科普大赛21个特等奖、一等奖等奖项;组织专家外出巡医巡讲,每年举办继续教育学习班,全面提升全省口腔医师水平;承办由团中央和国家卫生健康委主办的全国大学生口腔健康志愿宣讲活动;“金扇子”志愿服务团、“益口吐司”口腔健康科普团获团中央暑期社会实践优秀实践团队。

Overview of Xiangya Stomatological Hospital (Xiangya School of Stomatology) Central South University
Basic Information:
Xiangya Stomatological Hospital inherits the distinguished legacy of the century-old Xiangya Schoolof Medicine. Its predecessor was the Department of Stomatology established in 1986 at the former Hunan Medical University. In 2012, Central South University integrated its stomatological disciplines to establish Xiangya Stomatological Hospital (hereinafter referred to as “the Hospital”) on the basis of the Xiangya School of Stomatology. The Hospital was officially inaugurated and opened in April 2013, becoming the fourth directly affiliated hospital of Central South University and its only directly affiliated specialty hospital. In 2014, the University implemented an integrated management model combining the School of Stomatology, the Stomatological Hospital, and the Institute of Stomatology, unified under the designation Xiangya Stomatological Hospital Central South University.The Hospital passed the evaluation for tertiary hospitals in 2019 and was accredited as aGradeA tertiary specialty hospital in 2026, making it the only provincial-levelGradeA tertiary stomatological hospital in Hunan Province. In the 2024 National Performance AssessmentforTertiary Public Hospitals, the Hospital achieved Grade A, the highest rating among stomatological specialty hospitals. The Hospital currently operates 120 dental chairs, has 80 authorized inpatient beds, a clinical service area of 7,800 square meters, and employs 221 faculty and staff members.
Medical Services:
According to the Fudan University China Hospital Discipline Reputation Rankings, the Hospital consistently ranks second in Central China, following the School of Stomatology, Wuhan University. Its Departments of Endodontics and Orthodontics host specialties selected for the National Key Clinical Specialty Development Program and are also designated as Key Clinical Specialties in Hunan Province. The Hospital features a comprehensive departmental structure, covering all subspecialties of stomatology as well as auxiliary departments.It has led the formulation of six national-level industry guidelines and expert consensuses, pioneered the microscopic minimally invasive technique for retrieval of separated root canal instruments in Hunan Province, and remains at the forefront nationally in the diagnosis and treatment of oral cancer and oral mucosal diseases. As the only stomatological specialty hospital in Hunan Province routinely performing Grade IV surgeries, the Hospital reported that in 2023, 11.61% of discharged patients underwent Grade IV procedures, with more than 110,000 outpatient visits annually, 930 inpatient discharges, and 889 surgical procedures.
Faculty and Talent Team:
More than 60% of the physicians and faculty members hold doctoral degrees, and over 25% have overseas study experience. The Hospital has 8 doctoral supervisors and 28 master’s supervisors. Its talent pool includes 2selected for the Hunan Provincial Science and Technology Talent Support Program, 6 “Huxiang Young Talents,” 2 selected for the Hunan Provincial Young Talent Support Program, 1 Hunan Furong Young Scholar, 2 Hunan Provincial Excellent Young Scientists, 1 recipient of the Hunan May Fourth Youth Medal, 1 Outstanding Young Overseas Chinese in Hunan, 2 high-level health professionals of Hunan Province, and 5 experts under the “225” High-Level Health Talent Program. Additionally, 1 faculty member serves as Chair oftheProfessional Committee of the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association, while more than 30 serve as vice chairs, standing committee members, or committee members in professional committees of the Chinese Stomatological Association.
Discipline Development:
The Hospital hosts 8 national-level training bases, 2 national research sub-centers, and 6 provincial-level bases. The first Academician Expert Workstation for Stomatology in Hunan Province has been established at the Hospital. In the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), its stomatology discipline ranks 13th in China, and in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings by Subject,thediscipline ranks 11th in China. In the fifth round ofNationalDisciplineEvaluation,theHospital was placed within the 17th–20th range nationwide. The institution is authorized to confer master’s degrees in the first-level discipline of stomatology, professional doctoral degrees, and hosts a postdoctoral research station in oral plastic and aesthetic surgery.
Talent Cultivation:
The School has been approved as a National First-Class Undergraduate Major Construction Site. It began enrolling five-year undergraduate students in 1987, seven-year extended-program students in 2001, and “5+3” integrated bachelor-master students in 2016. Master’s students have been admitted since 1983, doctoral students since 2002, and international students since 2004. The School operates five on-campus teaching bases and currently enrolls over 600 students. Each year, it trains nearly 200 high-level stomatological professionals.One project won the Gold Award in the “Youth Red Dream-Building Track” of the China International College Students’ “Internet+” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, marking a historic breakthrough for Central South University in this category. The “Xiangya Little Dolphin” medical student science volunteer service initiative has been recognized under six national-level programs organized by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China.
Scientific Research:
Over the past five years, the institution has secured 166 research projects, including 21 at the national level, with total research funding exceeding RMB 37 million. More than 200 academic papers have been published, including over 160 indexed in SCI journals, with the highest single-paper impact factor reaching 48.2. It has been granted 19 invention patents and 110 utility model patents and has completed 3 technology transfer projects. The institution has also received one Third Prize of the Hunan Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award.
Social Responsibility:
The Hospital has established designated guidance, collaboration, and bidirectional referral partnerships with 32 hospitals and universities, covering the entirety of Hunan Province and extending to Guangxi and Xinjiang. It regularly conducts public health outreach initiatives, including free clinics and educational lectures, benefiting over 100,000 individuals annually.It has won 21 top-tier and first prizes in national and provincial science popularization competitions. The Hospital organizes expert outreach programs and continuing education training sessions each year to enhance the professional capacity of stomatologists across the province. It has hosted the National College Student Oral Health Volunteer PromotionActivity organized by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China and the National Health Commission of the People’s Republic of China. Its volunteer teams, including the “Golden Fan” Volunteer Service Teamand the “Yikou Toast” Oral Health Science Popularization Team, have been recognized as Outstanding Summer Social Practice Teams by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League.
